The market flow script was fully reversed compared to usual with Friday seeing buying pressure in the market, when usually Friday sees a lot of profit taking from investors. The break down between gains and declines was 50% to 43% but it translated to the main indexes gaining larger in value and they already started the day strongly.
Market liquidity spiked overall but still remained low generally - 71.89%. Investor activity also increased - something that is historically lower on the last trading day of the month.
The main impetus for the increased volumes came across the Financials and Materials sectors where BOP and PIBTL both had more than 120mn shares traded.
