Midweek saw a slight uptick in market activity leading to a bullish session, but the market saw a sharp spike in gold prices just as the CCP stated in a report that almost 90% of the gold trade on the market happens outside of the market structure. So, while a large majority of equities had price reductions the broad market and benchmark index saw substantial increase in value.
Price returns were negatively skewed as expected with some large gains on large cap stocks acting as counterweight in the market that had an outsized effect on the indices.
WTL and HUMNL pushed the communication services sector to the top but the energy sector also garnered investor interest across a few stocks.
