The Chai Tattle - 13th March 2026

The market closed on a damper unable to cover the losses on the first day of the trading week.

Trading activity on the last day of the week is muted, especially during Ramzan, but is drop, while expected, is worrisome as investors are checked out of the market, as has been the case throughout the week. Key indices declined but the declines were not massive and make sense as investors exited their positions pulling prices down. Crude prices rising even as oil reserves have been released into the market is having an effect on market participation.

The delta distribution was overwhelmingly positive with mean delta for gains above 7.6% while for declines it was below -3.5%.
